This year, Yusuf/Cat Stevens celebrated his 50th anniversary in 2016! Filmed in London, A Cat’s Attic celebrates the illustrious career of one of the most important artists in history. His first success came with the two chart hits “I Love My Dog” and “Matthew & Son”. During a hospitalization the following year, Stevens began a process of inner reflection and meditation, gaining a new outlook on life, transforming and writing 40 new songs, reviewing different aspects of his personal life and started exploring a new spiritual path. His next album Tea for the Tillerman established him as one of the leading singer- songwriters of his generation, with songs such as “ Wild World”, “Hard Headed Women”, and “Where do the Children Play?”. 1971 saw the songs “Morning has Broken”, “Peace Train”, and “Moonshadow”. After setting music aside to fully embrace Islam and his family in 1977, and leaving the spotlight for many, many years, Yusuf made a comeback to music in 2006, and has since released plenty of new albums and new material. On A Cat’s Attic tour, Stevens preformed his top hits “Where Do the Children Play?”, “Don’t Be Shy”, “Matthew & Son”, “On the Road to Find Out”, “Morning is Broken”, “Moonshadow”, and “Peace Train”, among others. During the show, Yusuf speaks about his fame, his songwriting process, as well as the course of his life, such as his many life-changing experiences as well as receiving the Koran for the first time – this magical and personal insight into the legendary Yusuf/Cat Stevens is not to be missed!
